Introduction
If you thought the Solid State Drive (SSD) market was heating up just a few weeks ago, then it is a total inferno now. New drives are being announced nearly every day and with the new products come higher capacities at lower prices. Just last week we looked at the Patriot Warp V2 128GB drive and called it a wicked drive at the 400 Dollar price point. Today we are going to look at G.Skill’s first Multi-Level Cell (MLC) drive that performs nearly identical to the Patriot Warp V2, but costs less than 300 Dollars.
This past week we have received SSDs from G.Skill, Walton Chaintech and Intel and will be reviewing them just a couple of days apart. All three drives are MLC based and with the exception of the Intel drive, they are all priced below the average MLC drive for their capacity.
Today we are looking at the new G.Skill FM-25S2-128GB, G.Skill’s first MLC drive and the latest in their lineup of products. Let’s dive right in and get started with the specifications and some images then jump right to performance!
