Installation, Playtime and Final Thoughts

Installing the software is easy and then you can twiddle 'till your hearts content. The usual features are present allowing you to re-map all the buttons, adjust the DPI presets as well as adjusting the sensitivity all over the place.

On the mouse, you can switch DPI presets using the two buttons below the scroll wheel, making it nice and easy when you need the precision. The buttons are unobtrusive, too, and I found no risk of hitting them accidently while in game.

Firing up World of Warcraft to give this puppy a test run, it tracks nicely on a lot of surfaces thanks to its optical sensor and I had no problem using it on cloth, wood and frosted glass. The forward and back buttons on the side allow for some much needed extra buttonage in games like this as well.

This however brings me to the main problem I found with the mouse. The forward button located on the right hand side of the mouse is far too pronounced and far too easy to click, making it a problem if you need to pick up the mouse to re-locate it on your mousing surface of choice.

Everyone does this, whether you realise it or not. You will move your mouse to the right or left to the full extent of your wrist and pick up the mouse and set it back down so you can move it a little bit further. It's just a natural reaction from years of using crap mice.

The solution to this of course is to make sure the DPI is set right so that you don't have to do the lifting, but that doesn't take away the fact that the button is far too easy to click and sticks out too far from the side of the mouse, enough to get in the way.

But the poor button choice aside, this mouse has potential to be a true entrant for the gaming mouse series and with all the right features and performance. Not to mention, it has some awesome good looks! - I think we have a winner!

Did I mention it's an ambidextrous mouse, too? Good for righties and lefties which is a somewhat rare feature in the gaming mouse market. With manufacturers going crazy to slam in as many features as possible, they un-wittingly make the mouse biased to the right handers. By keeping it simple and functional like NZXT does here, they have a true all purpose gaming rodent.
