Today we'll see how the HD 4870 X2 goes up against the single HD 4870, a pair of HD 4870s in Crossfire, a stock clocked GTX 280, the older dual GPU 9800 GX2 and an overclocked 9800 GTX.
Fortunately, we've got two HD 4870 X2s on hand with us today so we'll check out how two cards perform when placed together as well.

Here we can see the HD 4870 X2 doesn't struggle against the GTX 280. Adding a second card into the mix, while yielding a performance increase, it doesn't give us anything huge.
