Hercules XPS510 5.1 Speaker System Review - Hercules XPS510 - Page 6
With all their success in the audio market, Hercules has recently decided to introduce their new range of speakers. These were named the XPS510, XPS210 and XPS200, with XPS standing for eXtended Personal Sound. We were able to obtain Hercules' high-end, yet low priced speaker system, the XPS 510. At first we were very critical about the performance of this system due to it's low cost, however, as you will see when you read on, first impressions do not always last.
TweakTown Rating: 9.0
Overall I was very impressed with the Hercules XPS510 speaker system. When I first looked at this speaker system I was not expecting very good sound at all due to its low price. However, upon further inspection of the unit I realised I was very wrong. The XPS510 provides top notch audio clarity, deep bass, strong vocal reproduction and excellent positional audio. For a recommended retail price of $AUD199 ($US89), you can not really go wrong if you purchase this system. Although I had a few minor quibbles, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I highly doubt that you will find a better speaker system for such a low price.
* Excellent value
* Good sound quality
* Ability to easily upgrade to Dolby Digital
* Detailed user manual
* Inconvenient speaker controls placement
Rating - 9/10
