With the package out of the way it’s time to check out what exactly we have on our hands today. Pulling the drive out of the box, we see the same white and black layout that we saw on the front of the box.
Across the top of the drive we have the Blu-ray Disc logo in grey with it again shown on the tray. Below that we have the Lite-On logo and of course the eject button which will probably come in handy from time to time.
Moving around to the back of the drive, we have the power connector plug, USB port along with a power switch.
Continuing to move around the drive we also have a side that has a slot going down most of it. Here is where you install the stand if you’re limited for space and want to run the drive horizontally, which works quite well I might add.
Looking underneath the drive we have four little rubber feet that helps keep the drive in place when it’s sitting down flat, and also helps to reduce any vibrations. We also have a sticker that gives us all the official information such as the serial number, model, laser information and more.
As for the overall size of the unit, it comes in at only a smidge bigger than a Blu-ray disc, which is of course just slightly better than a standard internal ROM drive.
The Specs
As you can see in the image below, we have all the standard ticks apart from writing capabilities.
This is purely a reading drive for DVD, CD and Blu-ray. However, the lack of writing capabilities do keep the cost down which in turn helps you get into Hi-Def for less money.
