Closer look at the T4H CR

Here Ladies and Gents, we have the Enhance Tech T4H CR in all its glory. Straight out of the box this unit means business. The heavily padded foam surrounds protect the beast from all angles. Within this package you will also have the following accessories included:-

- Power cord

- FireWire 800 cable

- FireWire 400 cable

- USB cable

- eSATA cable

- CD manual and hard copy manual

With a heavily built aluminium casing, this baby isn't getting K.O'd by any soccer punches. The solid frame also eliminates any annoying vibration noises that may be caused by either four of the HDDs or cooling fan. We also found that the enclosure ran 10c cooler than room temperature; this would benefit in hotter environments as the hard drives themselves emit a fair amount of heat.

Upon opening the door you'll find:-

- Four x 3.5" HDD rack mounts with key lock and power/activity LEDS (blue power, red activity)

- Monochrome LCD screen with menu buttons for simplistic navigation to setup RAID configurations, monitor temperature level, fan RPM, unit serial number, Firmware version, individual disk sizes and model numbers, and lastly the total disk space of RAID dependency setup.

Unlike most PC cases, the T4H CR doesn't really require any user intervention in regards to opening the side panels to install and secure HDDs in with screws. With the T4H CR's simplistic caddy design, the HDDs are easily accessible. It's as simple as mounting HDDs into the caddy pockets and sliding them into their housings.

Moving along to the rear, we see the following port configuration:-

COMs Port - (This port is only used for future Firmware updates)

eSATA I and II

USB 2.0 port

FireWire 400

FireWire 800 x 2

Here we have the T4H CR's rear end. Notice the warning sticker covering the power connector, alerting you to make sure that the dip switch is set to the correct power voltage. Otherwise, you can kiss it good bye!

Depending on your PC/server environment, the T4H CR is well equipped with connection ports to suit your needs, keeping in mind that USB and FireWire 400/800 will detect no more than 2 TB of storage space. eSATA however does not have this limitation.
