Final Thoughts

Hitachi has really come through in the hard disk market since taking over the department from IBM. So far the Hitachi drives have been top notch with no real reason to discredit them. Hitachi's current range of drives are extremely impressive.

The latest drive we have from Hitachi was nothing more or less than the latest series of 5400 notebook drives; its performance was right on par with what we have already seen along with the 250GB capacity giving you enough space on your laptop to store movies and all things big.

Overall, the Hitachi Travelstar 250GB HDD is a definite contender, it doesn't have any additional features over the Western Digital drive so it's a matter of choice as to which drive you want.
