The Package

With the box in hand there isn’t anything too out of the ordinary on the front. The left hand side of the box has the brand while the bottom of the box has the model number, which of course in this case is the 9600GT.

The right of the box gives us some more details and main features of the card like PCI Express 2.0 (backwards compatible), Dual Link DVI, HDMI Ready, 512MB DDR3 and a few other important things. Just below the list we have a sticker that mentions the card is overclocked.

Turning the box over we have some more details on the features of the card along with mention of the DVI to HDMI adapter. To the right of that we also have a little bit of a blurb on SLI.

With the box out the way it’s time to move inside. The cable side of things has the normal S-Video, Component Out, Molex to PCI E convertors and DVI to VGA connector. We also have a DVI to HDMI adapter and another cable that hooks from the sound card to the graphics card so the HDMI adapter can also pass out sound.

Paperwork wise there isn’t a whole lot; two quick user guides are included along with a Driver CD. MSI have chosen not to include any games this time around, so there isn’t a whole lot to say.

The inclusion of the HDMI and sound cable is handy, and definitely nice to see. We know that MSI have bundled Company of Heroes with some of their cards lately and it would have been nice to see it included here as well, but it’s not the end of the world.
