For comparison today we have with us the stock clocked 8800GT 512MB from ASUS along with a pair of Crossfired GECUBE 3850 cards. The lineup will be pretty standard here so there isn’t all that much to talk about. Let’s just get stuck straight into the benchmarks.
3DMark05 is now the second latest version in the popular 3DMark “Gamers Benchmark” series. It includes a complete set of DX9 benchmarks which tests Shader Model 2.0 and above.

We can see in the older 3DMark05 that the cards perform quite close to each other at the lower resolutions. It’s only when you climb up that the single card solutions separate themselves. We can see though that the 8800GT isn’t all that far ahead of the HD 3850.
