The PackageThe front of the box looks pretty cool, we can see some big logos on the front like HDMI, HD-DVD and Blu-ray. We can clearly see the model and the fact that it comes with 1024MB or 1GB of GDDR4 memory.
There is also the sticker that shows the inclusion of Black Box as we have come to expect from all HD 2900s. The naming scheme for the card is Viper which is pretty cool, so it looks like Diamond certainly know what they’re doing.
Turning the box over we have the usual speak of what’s so good about the Radeon based card. Diamond have also partnered with some other well established companies like G.Skill, SilverStone and Enermax which states that they’re a certified performance partner.
This tends to make people feel a bit more comfortable with the product they’re buying, especially since it’s been a long time between graphics cards from Diamond.
The cable department is pretty full on as you would expect; two DVI to VGA connectors, a DVI to HDMI connector, VIVO cable, Component out cable and of course the Crossfire bridge. Also included in the package is the standard driver CD along with a copy of Black Box as you would expect.
The bundle is pretty good on a whole but it’s what we would normally expect out of a HD 2900 XT package. It would have been nice to see Diamond include their own game into the mix. We understand though that Diamond are just coming back to the party and it might take a bit of time before they re-establish their contacts with companies.
