Inno3D GeForce 7900GS 256MB IChiLL Accelero S1M Graphics Card - Final Thoughts

Inno3D is a new brand to us but did they manage to impress with their silent 7900GS IChiLL Accelero S1M graphics card?

Final Thoughts

Like any time you start dealing with a new company and their products, you're not too sure what to expect. Inno3D have been around for a while so clearly they are doing something right and today we can see they are right on the money. Our first impressions tell us that iChiLL series is a fantastic idea - it's what you would consider the equivalent of the HIS IceQ except for GeForce instead of Radeon.

With the new GeForce 8600 and 8500 mid-range graphics cards coming out in the coming weeks, hopefully Inno3D decide to include these models into the iChiLL series as being mid-range cards they should sit perfect and especially for users wanting to build silent home theater computers but with still some kick when it comes to performance.

Apart from availability in Australia, it's actually pretty hard to fault the card. It looks great from the word go. The heatsink is excellent quality and super quiet (silent in fact), performance is great and the card comes overclocked quite decently out of the box letting it dominate the Radeon X1950GT for the most part except for price. Since we're talking about a graphics card with a high quality aftermarket heatsink and overclocked out of the box, you need to pay a price premium but that's quite understandable.

Inno3D's 7900GS 256MB IChiLL Accelero S1M graphics card simply lets us reinforce the fact why the GeForce 7900GS was such a great GPU and clearly still is.

If you're looking for a silent GeForce 7900GS that offers very good performance, it's worth having a hunt around to see if you can find this product and it's fairly well priced considering what you are getting for your dollars. The only problem for Inno3D now is that the bar has been set very high for them at the very beginning and we expect to see more high quality cards like the 7900GS iChiLL from them in the future.
