Final Thoughts

When the dust has settled and the testing has been completed, I can only sit back and admire the work that OCZ has put into this behemoth. Offering a huge 1000 watts of power and a 12v rail that can handle anything thrown at it, the ProXStream 1000 is everything you could wish for in a power supply and more.

While the PSU doesn't have a lot of frills, the simple chrome-type exterior is aesthetically pleasing and will set off a windowed enclosure nicely. The unit also runs with an Active PFC for a cleaner and more efficient power flow and is compatible with the latest ATX/EPS based systems.

As far as price is concerned... well, you may want to hold on to your shorts. You can expect to shell out in the neighborhood of US$350 for this beast, so all this power does come at a price. Of course, you can always get a cheaper one for around $150 and wish later on that you had gone ahead and bought quality the first time around. The choice is entirely yours.

Bottom line... If you're in the market for a power supply that has enough power to handle the most hardcore of enthusiast rigs with the capability of running quad graphics and dual dual-core processors, the OCZ ProXStream 1000 should be at the top of your list. With a power flow that is about as close to flawless as you will ever see and the ability to handle a 70A power draw from the 12 rails, you simply have to see this thing to believe it!
