We recently added the option to have the Open-E operating system pre-loaded on any Custom or Enterprise Storage Solution offered by AVADirect. The OS has significantly more features that the previous FreeNAS OS we included with all relevant soltuions. Open-E, offering several different variants, has key features such as:

◦· Enhanced Graphical User Interface
◦· Symantec Backup Exec backup agent
◦· Basic API Configuration
◦· Windows Server 2008 Clustering Support
◦· Hardware RAID Support
◦· Volume and Data Replication
◦· Multiple Network Interface Card (NIC) Support
◦· Fibre Channel Support
◦· Multi-CPU Support

These features will increasingly strengthen the functionality of any storage solution the Open-E OS is implemented with, and creates any easy to use interface that any end-user can learn. Fourteen different RAID controller manufacturers are supported to give end-users more of a reason to take a more robust, and secure storage approach with the systems offered. Open-E has also added security features to ensure your data remains safe, and in the correct hands. We are excited to begin offering such a diverse storage solution OS and look forward to future improvements to keep the Open-E interface user-friendly.
