Series of one liter desktops - about the size of a book - now includes more powerful version with Intel® Atom D525 processor and NVIDIA® ION 2 graphics for 1080p video playback; Two new nettops are space-, energy- and cost-efficient
SAN JOSE, CALIF., Oct. 6, 2010 - Acer America, part of the world's second largest PC vendor (1), today expanded its line of Veriton nettops for the U.S. professional market with the Veriton N282G, a powerful new model for viewing HD content and the Veriton N281G, an update to Acer's first commercial nettop that's engineered for tackling office productivity tasks.
Small, flexible and highly practical, the new Veriton N281G and Veriton N282G ultra-compact nettops conserve energy, work space and due to its screw-less chassis, total cost of ownership. The new nettops come with Windows® 7 Professional and will be available via Acer's authorized resellers in October with prices beginning at just $399.
"The convenience, price and performance of our Veriton nettop has been well-received by the commercial market. In addition to making our existing product more robust, we've enhanced the line with a model designed for environments where high-def playback is popular, such as libraries, schools, research centers and digital signage shops," said Leila Axelle Robert, Acer Commercial Systems Business Manager. "Whether they're placed upright with their retractable stand or attached to the rear of a display, the nettop keeps a low profile. It's a smart choice for those whose top priorities are performance, space and value."

The Veriton N282G-UD525W combines a powerful Intel® Atom dual-core processor D525 (1.8GHz), 2GB DDR3 SDRAM and NVIDIA® ION 2 graphics for efficient multitasking and showcasing full 1080p videos. The next-generation NVIDIA® ION graphics fuel the PC with more than 10 times the performance of integrated graphics.(2) With the ION GPU, users can enjoy full HD video on sites like YouTube HD or from Blu-Ray discs.
