GECUBE Launches HD4600 Graphics Card for Middle to High-End Markets
(September 10, 2008, Taipei) - After their market success with the launch of the high-end HD4800 graphics card series, the development team at the renowned Taiwanese graphics card maker GECUBE is now bringing their expertise in high-end graphics cards to the new generation of middle/high-end graphics cards. The GECUBE Radeon HD4600 series is the company's next mainstream graphics card series targeted at the middle to high-end market. With the second generation RV730 55nm GPU technology, PCI-Express 2.0 interface as well as full support for DirectX10.1/SM4.1 and ATI CrossFireX technologies, the cards also come with built-in HDCP, HDMI, Blu-ray and HD DVD decoding support. Together they deliver an outstanding performance that matches high-end graphics cards at a price point even more attractive than higher-end HD4800 graphics cards. GECUBE is releasing the HD4600 series in two flavors (HD4670 and HD4650) to meet users' different requirements. The GECUBE Radeon HD4670 series comes equipped with RV730XT 55nm GPU technology, PCI-Express 2.0 interface, full support DirectX10.1/SM4.1 and ATI CorssFireX technologies as well as 24X Anti-Aliasing (AA). These combined with 512MB of high-speed GDDR3 memory means the HD4670 can reach core and memory clock frequencies of up to 750MHz/1000*2MHz. This allows the delivery of the most realistic and lifelike images in 3D gaming as well as exquisite HD gaming and cinematic experiences. The GECUBE HD4670 series also incorporates all-new enhanced 7.1 channel surround sound as well as built-in HDMI, HDCP and UVD 2 (Unified Video Decoder 2) support. The latest Dual-stream and picture in picture (PIP) Blu-ray and HD DVD functions are completely supported as well to deliver an outstanding audio-visual playback experience at HD 1080p resolutions. Apart from the HD4670 series, GECUBE is also releasing the HD4650 series for the middle to high-end market. The HD4650 is available with DDR2 512MB or 1.0GB memory on top of RV730PRO 55nm GPU technology, PCI-Express 2.0 interface as well as full support DirectX10.1/SM4.1 and ATI CorssFireX technologies to reach core and memory clock frequencies of up to 600MHz/500*2MHz. 24X Anti-Aliasing (AA) technology is also available on the GECUBE Radeon HD4650 series together with built-in HDMI, HDCP and 7.1 channel surround sound. Dual-stream and picture in picture (PIP) for Blu-ray and HD DVD are fully supported as well and when combined with all new UVD 2 (Unified Video Decoder 2) support, it brings to users a visual feast through advanced video technologies.
The GECUBE HD4670 and HD4650 both use second-generation 55nm GPUs. These represent a breakthrough in graphics chip technology because they can continue operating at optimal efficiency even while processing large amounts of game programming. All GECUBE HD4600 series graphics cards support Dual Mode ATI CrossFireX with outstanding scalability technology to deliver the best gaming performance. Meanwhile, the GECUBE HD4600 series includes the latest DirectX 10.1 technology. It offers 32-bit floating point filtering support and breaks new ground in illumination quality with the use of Global Illumination technology, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) illumination are also boosted. The addition of Geometry Shader technology in particular accelerates the processing of 3D effects such as bump mapping.
