Thecus® 2009 NAS Redefined Taiwan Press Conference
Limitless innovation - Ever persuing perfection
11/11/2009 - With the digital age upon us, the demand for digital storage continues to grow. In this new world, storage leader Thecus® Technology focuses on friendly design and accelerated performance by introducing next-generation storage solutions like the N7700PRO and N8800PRO which offer advanced features such as 10GbE and VMware support. Add to that the N4200 coming in January of 2010, and Thecus® has once again redefined the future of digital storage.
First off are the newly-released N7700PRO and N8800PRO. Equipped with Intel® Core 2 Duo CPUs and 4GB of DDR2 800 memory, these two devices can easily handle the data stored on seven or eight 3.5" hard disks with blazing system response. With the internal PCI-e slot, users can easily install a 10Gb Ethernet card and enjoy transfer speeds of up to 300MB/s! If you need even more storage, simply take advantage of Thecus®' Stackable feature, which enables you to connect up to 5 other N7700PRO/N8800PROs together and manage them all with a master NAS. What's more, the N7700PRO and N8800PRO support both iSCSI initiators and thin-provisioning for added convenience and versatility.
Also, Thecus® has released the N7700SAS and N7700SAS, giving enterprise users even more options. As the names suggest, these two devices can support both SATA and SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) hard disks, allowing businesses to enjoy the speed and security of SAS hard disks at an affordable price. Using an Intel® Core 2 Duo CPU and DDR2 memory, these units can easily handle large amounts of data, while remaining snappy even with multiple user access. For data security, the N7700SAS and N8800SAS deliver multiple RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD. Administrators can even set up different RAID arrays on the same unit simultaneously to meet the needs of different applications. Finally, features like online RAID migration, expansion, and auto-rebuild round out two outstanding enterprise storage devices.
Thecus® also offers the N2200 - our most quiet and energy-saving home NAS yet. The N2200 can hold two 3.5" SATA hard disks for up to 4TB of total storage. In addition, its innovative combo HDD bays can also accommodate 2.5" SATA hard disks for added flexibility. Data protection is handed by a selection of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, and JBOD, and expanding or swapping hard disks is a snap thanks to both hot swapping and auto-rebuild. Getting the N2200 set up is incredibly simple due to the included Smart Utility, which enables you to configure and use the N2200 with a single mouse click.
Following up the legendary N4100PRO, the N4200 is slated for release in January 2010. Featuring an all-new user-friendly design, the N4200 sports OLED and LCD displays and an integrated battery backup module, elevating the NAS to a new level of convenience and security.
Aside from new products, Thecus® will also be displaying its most popular NAS units, including the next-generation five-bay N5500, the 3.5" and 2.5" hard disk supporting N0503 comboNAS, and the tiny-but-mighty N0204 miniNAS.
"Thecus® has always strived for innovation in the world of NAS. Take for example our new VMware virtualization compatibility that once again shows our technological leadership. In fact, Thecus® is already an official member of the VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) Program," said Thecus® General Manager Florence Shih. "At today's NAS Redefined Press Conference, we hope to show the world our never-wavering determination to bring next-generation NAS technology to life."
