Toshiba unveils high-powered business notebooks

~ Toshiba Introduces High Powered Business Notebooks ~
Sydney, 23 July 2008 – Delivering greater choice and flexibility in mobile computing solutions for all budgets, Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited Information Systems Division (ISD) today launched its latest range of new look and feel, high-powered business notebooks with Intel® Centrino®2 technology.
Suitable for even the most dynamic work environments and boasting improved wireless capabilities and the latest graphics and performance enhancements, the business range includes new lighter Tecra models, a refreshed Satellite Pro series and two new Portégé models. Toshiba also incorporates another world-first into the Portégé range with the introduction of the ultra-portable Portégé R500 128GB Solid State Drive (SSD) edition with built in 3G – making it still the world’s lightest fully-featured notebook.
“As Australia’s mobile workforce continues to grow unabated, business users require the flexibility to manage the increasing demands of work and personal life from anywhere via efficient devices,” said Mathew Tumminello, Product Marketing Manager at Toshiba ISD.

The new business notebooks also incorporate a host of innovative technologies including:

- ConfigFree® provides hassle-free, location-based connectivity for wired and wireless networks for an enhanced mobile communication experience
- eSATA/USB for faster data transfer speed while saving computer processor resources
- Eco-setting to reduce power consumption and cut off power in idle mode for a maximised battery life
- PC Health Monitor for statistical analysis and easy user notebook maintenance
- Toshiba’s EasyGuard for notebook protection features
- Sleep-and-Charge USB port to enable the charging of mobile devices even when the notebook is hibernating or turned off
- Business card reader to convert standard business cards to digital format
- Face recognition for secure, easy and convenient Windows log-on by face and recognition of multiple users and;
- An integrated webcam for collaborative communications.
