CES 2013 - The Parrot AR.Drone 2.0 is a quadrotor drone that can be flown by your iPhone or programmed to be ran by your computer. You may remember the first device impress at a previous CES show, this one is better. The device can do some impressive feats, such as being able to do a barrel roll or dance to music. Parrot demoed the quadrotor by having four of them dance to music in tandem.
Check out the video above to see what the quadrotors are capable of. You can pick yours up from the Apple Store and many other retails for $299.99. The device has GPS and video cameras and can record video, which can later be geotagged and uploaded and shared with others.
Ever since Transformers debuted back in the 1980s, toy creators have been trying their best to create their own real Transformer that would be able to change between a robot to a vehicle of some sort with the simple push of a button. It looks like one group has finally been able to produce a fully-functioning Transformer that not only is able to function as a robot and vehicle separately, but it also has a few awesome surprises as well.
Brave Robotics spent months building its Transformer-style toy that can switch between a luxury vehicle to a standing robot complete with projectiles that can be shot out of each arm. The mechanics of the robot changing from a vehicle to a robot and vice versa seems a little sloppy as in the video below, you can see the robot wobbling all over the place.
We saw the cool Parrot AR.Drone back at CES in January. The thing is a four-prop hovering helicopter gadget that you can control with the iPhone or iPod touch. The thing sports a pair of onboard cameras to help it fly.
The pair of cameras are used to beam video to the user directly on the iPhone and can be used for an autopilot system too. A new video from Parrot shows a pair of the drones having a dogfight.
The system can also create virtual enemies if you only have one drone to play with. Launch date and pricing are both still unknown, but considering the thing has cameras it won't be cheap.
