Following nearly 2 months of worldwide security mayhem which began with the breach and temporary (but painfully long) closure of Sony's PlayStation network, the hacker group responsible, "LulzSec" has indicated that it finally plans to withdraw its aggressive hacking antics and disband.
This group has certainly made quite a shattering impact in performing several high-profile security breaches and DoS attacks against the likes of Sony as mentioned, Nintendo and even the US Senate and FBI. Their hacking adventures have resulted in company costs well into the 10s of millions.
Apple have released what could be the last update to OS X Snow Leopard before their next OS hits, Mac OS X Lion 10.7. Mac OS X 10.6.8 is available now and includes a number of "general operating system fixes," including improved VPN reliability and removal of known variants of Mac Defender.
What is probably the most important thing to note with 10.6.8 is that it includes an "Enhancement to the Mac App Store to get your Mac ready to upgrade to Mac OS X Lion". You will require 10.6.8 if you want to upgrade to Lion when it comes out next month. As for what is included in the 10.6.8 update, heres a run down:

A few days ago Adobe released updated models of two of their tools, Flash Builder and Flex have been updated to version 4.5.1, boosting mobile application development support. The updated products support development of applications for various tech, Android, BlackBerry, RIM PlayBook and Apple iOS-based devices. The new upgraded versions of Flash Builder and Flex now cover all major mobile OSs for the first time with Flash Builder 4.5.1 and Flex 4.5.1.
Adobe said in a statement:
Using Flash Builder and Flex, enterprises can now use one tool, one framework and one code base to create high-performance applications that run on the Web and desktops as well as smartphones and tablets.

Windows 8 build 7989 has been leaked to torrent sites. Screenshots of build 7989 have been released on the BetaArchive forums with the full build string of "7989.winmain.110421-1825.615974c7346f7374", what this means is the build was compiled on April 21, 2011 at 6:25pm.
The new screenshots show a new background and boot screen but apart from that there is no new info on what the actual build contains. It seems all eyes are on Microsoft to see the continued success of Windows after the success they found in Windows 7. Note that this build does not include the new touch UI.
