Google Chrome has a great minimalist approach, the developers have strived to constantly cut down parts of the browser window that is not showing content. This is in the words of virtually all Obama speeches, is taking an unprecedented turn and looking to change the traditional navigation bar.
The new experimental user interface has found its way into the early pre-release build of Chrome 13 and offers a sneak peak at what Google is aiming for. The browser navigation toolbar has the option of being completely hidden and leaves only the tab bar, menu button and content area. The forward and back buttons are moved into the tab bar, placing them in the top-left corner of the window.

Windows 8 has hit build 8006 and was compiled on May 13 at 6:55PM. The built number passed the magical 8000 mark somewhere between April 29 and May 12. If people remember the Windows 7 beta, with Windows 7 beta being build 7000 and release candidate (RC) being build 7100, RTM had the build number of 7600.
Microsoft might not follow the same build number milestones as Windows 7 did, but we know that beta builds of Windows 8 are having the same success that Windows 7 received. This can only be a good thing and lets hope Windows 8 continues on its success being closed, beta doors.
NVIDIA has unleashed a new beta driver to compliment the release of its GeForce GTX 560 today, although there are performance gains for both 400 and 500-series GeForce cards, NVIDIA only display the benefits for two specific GPUs, the GTX 560 and GTX 580. NVIDIA mentions a 12-percent gain in gaming performance for dual-core processers during certain CPU-limited situations. Game-related single-GPU bug fixes are included, these include issues that caused blurriness in Resident Evil 5 as well as the flickering in Empire: Total War and Battlefield: Bad Company 2.
NVIDIA also has solved glitches in Homefront, World in Conflict: Soviet Assault, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Crysis when running them in SLI.The 275-based drivers include some significant changes over their 270 cousin, such as silent automatic SLI, multi-GPU and anti-aliasing profile updates.

Our Download of the Day today is Spybot Search & Destroy 2.0 Beta 1.
Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies.
If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware.
Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free, so there's no harm giving it a try to see if something has invaded your computer.
Spybot-S&D can also clean usage tracks, an interesting function if you share your computer with other users and don't want them to see what you have been working on. And for professional users, Spybot-S&D allows you to fix some registry inconsistencies and extended reports.
