Microsoft has teased that the next generation of Windows is nearly upon us, where the official Windows Twitter account has said for the world to join them on June 24 at 11AM ET for "what's next" with Windows.

Microsoft will unveil next-gen Windows 11 OS on June 24

We knew it was coming, as Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella teased the "next generation of Windows" just last week and that the company would be sharing "one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade". The last we heard about the next-gen Windows was this time last year, with rumors of big changes to the Windows UI that were coming.

Now we know that is just one part of many changes coming to the next-gen Windows 11, which is codenamed Sun Valley and will have a "sweeping visual rejuvenation of Windows". We should expect influence from Windows 10X, which isn't around anymore -- but the visual feel of Windows 10X will be felt throughout Windows 11, and so much more.

Microsoft teases 'next generation of Windows' with reveal 'very soon'

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said during his Build 2021 keynote this morning: "Soon we will share one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade to unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators. I've been self-hosting it over the past several months, and I'm incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows. Our promise to you is this: we will create more opportunity for every Windows developer today and welcome every creator who is looking for the most innovative, new, open platform to build and distribute and monetize applications. We look forward to sharing more very soon".

We might not find out everything about the next-gen Windows during Build 2021, but it seems that we're going to see Microsoft at least outline what it wants to do with the future of its desktop OS over the coming days. This will have ripple effects throughout workstation or casual users, professionals, and gamers once the new Windows (11?) is announced.

Jak Connor | May 6, 2021 9:03 AM CDT

The official Twitter page has tweeted out an update for quality of life improvement to the app on both iOS and Android.

Twitter has implemented a very small but meaningful change to its app

According to the tweet, Twitter has released full-sized images on both iOS and Android devices. Now, users will be able to scroll down their feeds and see pictures in their full aspect ratio. Before this update, Twitter would crop all non-16:9 images, so the feed maintained a clean-cut uniform look.

The Twitter Support account replied to a user asking, "what's the actual aspect ratio tho", by saying, "Images with 2:1 and 3:4 aspect ratios will show in full." Back in March, Twitter trialed two new options, full-sized images and the option to upload images in 4K quality. The option to upload images in 4K rolled out to users at the end of last month. Mark Zuckerberg's real-life horror movie is live with Apple's iOS 14.5

Jak Connor | Apr 29, 2021 2:35 AM CDT

This week Apple has dropped the highly controversial iOS 14.5 update that will no doubt usher in a new wave of panic for Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Mark Zuckerberg's real-life horror movie is live with Apple's iOS 14.5

The newest update from Apple is poised to impact the entire Facebook business model when it comes to collecting data from users and online targeted advertising. Apple has been very open about what the update will entail, as the company has released a video on its YouTube channel detailing what the update means for iPhone users.

Essentially, iOS 14.5 will force all apps to ask users for permission before the users' data is tracked. Users will be able to choose to allow data tracking or deny it. As for how this update will affect Facebook and businesses that use Facebook Ads to sell products or services, the assumption is only negative. Many users that have been receiving targeted advertising due to their data being tracked may choose to opt out of that, thus severely affecting the return-on-ad-spend for all businesses on Facebook's platform.
