Disney's latest film, Wreck-It Ralph, has officially been released today and if you've watched any of its trailers, you'll know Ralph spends a good portion of his time in the film jumping from one game to another. It seems his game jumping is occurring in actual video games as SEGA has announced he'll be appearing as a racer in its upcoming Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
To celebrate the announcement, SEGA has released a brand-new trailer of the game highlighting Wreck-It Ralph as he races by land, sea and air.
We're just a few weeks away from the North American launch of Nintendo's Wii U, and that means the company has started its marketing blitz.
The latest marketing called "How U Will Play Next" highlights the Nintendo Wii U and its multiple uses across a number of games like Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U.
Up until just a few months ago, Xbox 360 achievements have just been a way to brag to your friends on how much of a gaming god you are over them as you've gone above and beyond in order to unlock your achievements. But Microsoft changed that recently when they began to offer discounts on merchandise within the Xbox Live Marketplace for gamers who reached a certain amount of Gamerscore. Now it looks like American Express is getting in on the "rewarding gamers for their achievements" bandwagon.
American Express announced today that it will be launching its Card Sync Technology with the Xbox 360 which will reward players with real-world prizes like coupons and credit to their credit card. American Express card holders would need to sync their card to their Xbox Live account to which the company would keep track of your achievements and reward you accordingly.
Take-Two Interactive's latest financial results for the last quarter, with revenue increasing thanks to the release of Borderlands 2. Other games that helped this quarter just gone are the success of NBA 2K13 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
Take-Two Interactive Software shares also increased 5% because of the good financial results, with Chairman and CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick talking about the recent success:|
Take-Two's second quarter revenue and earnings exceeded our outlook, driven by the breakout success of 2K's Borderlands 2 and robust demand for our catalog and digitally delivered offerings.
Over the past three months, revenues of $288 million were bought in, with profits of $10.2 million on that. Analysts had expected the company to make a loss, so this is definitely a nice surprise. Year-over-year results are also great, with last years only seeing revenue hit $107 million. Take-Two has a bright future ahead of them, with the very, very highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto V in spring next year.
I still remember when Medal of Honor came out - that's about the time we got some wicked anistrophic filtering tech on our graphics cards and it was one of the first games I used it on. The game itself was phenomenal, and this was all before Call of Duty entered the first-person shooter arena.
After rebooting a couple of years ago, we're looking at another jolt into the now disappointing franchise with Medal of Honor: Warfighter (our review on it is here). But, EA's earnings call a couple of days ago noted the disappointing performance of the game, but didn't give out any exact sales figures.
Wedbush Securities analyst, Michael Pachter, says that the bad reception could be the beginning of the end of the Medal of Honor brand, and furthermore, hurt EA's ongoing fight against Activision for the king of the hill position in the first-person shooter market.
Finally, some news for the gaming world that is exciting. VG247 have had multiple sources whisper into their ears that "Orbis" developer kits, otherwise known as the PlayStation 4, are reaching developers, housed in a normal PC case.
VG247 report that there are four different dev kit versions, with the previous version just a graphics card. The version shipping at the moment is a "modified PC", and the third version which will arrive in January 2013 will be closer to the final spec. The final version will be in developers' hands "next summer".
The latest Orbis units are based on AMD's A10 APU series, with the PS4's APU described as a "derivative" of existing A10 hardware, which is "based on A10 system and base platform". VG247 were told that the "ultimate goal" for the hardware is to run 1080p60 games (1920x1080 at 60 frames per second) in 3D with "no problems". The goal, to create a machine that's powerful enough for "today and tomorrow's market". Considering tomorrow's market is 4K... I'll stop there for now.

Well, this is surprising! Crysis 3 Alpha codes are now open, with NVIDIA and EA have teamed up and are giving out 5,000 keys to the first 5,000 people who sign up to this page starting right now.
Once you've secured your key, you just have to enter it into Origin, and you'll have the game sit there until the pre-load is ready. The game is just an alpha copy, which means it is most likely buggy and no way a representation of the final version.
But, get in right now if you want to check out Crysis 3 before the rest!!
Hurricane Sandy has been in the headlines the past couple of days due to its destructive path through the east coast of the United States. Millions are currently without power, but when you get the itch to play Skyrim, you'll do anything and everything to scratch it.
Reddit user 'pvalerio' posted a photo of his friend using his Ford Edge in order to play Skyrim from his Xbox 360. His Ford Edge has audio / video inputs where he can connect his Xbox 360 to his vehicle and used a power inverter to plug his console into the DC outlet of his vehicle.
