If you hadn't pulled the trigger on Battlefield 4 just yet, now might be your time. You only have around 8 more hours to jump onto EA's sales on Origin, with massive specials on some of the biggest games out.
Battlefield 4 is down to $29.99 from $59.99, Sim City has been reduced to just $19.99 from $39.99 and Need for Speed: Rivals has dropped to $34.99 from $49.99. There are a bunch of other games on special, including FIFA 14, Crysis 3, Dead Space 3 and more, so head on over to Origin to scoop up some cheap games!
It looks like there's problems on the Xbox One version of Battlefield 4, where the Second Assault DLC is not available for Xbox One owners who have coughed up the dough for Battlefield Premium.
Battlefield 4: Second Assault includes four maps from Battlefield 3, and the biggest issue here is that the DLC is an Xbox One exclusive for two weeks to those who have Premium access. But, the problem is, that the pack is listing as "null data" when logging on to the in-game Premium store. An EA spokesperson has said that Microsoft is looking into the matter.
EA_Rick, said: "I know some of you have said already that it is being looked into, I wanted to just confirm that for you so you guys have a blue [staff] post to refer to. Right now all I can say is that we are aware of this issue and are currently investigating this with Microsoft. Once we have some more details I'll be sure to let you know."
If you're a Diablo fan, you probably already know this, but Blizzard and Insight Editions new Diablo 3-based book, Book of Tyrael, is now out, and available for your reading pleasure.
Book of Tyrael is on sale for $29.24, from retailers like Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Blizzard talked about the book back in May, revealing that it would be a 148-page hardcover book. Book of Tyrael includes art and lore from the Diablo series, and will take "players even further into the events in Sanctuary" through the eyes of Tyrael.
Valve is holding its Autumn Sale, throwing a bunch of games on special. Currently, you can pick up games like Dead Island for $4.99, which is a huge 75% off its usual price of $19.99.
If you haven't picked up System Shock 2 yet (what's wrong with you?!) it's up for sale for just $2.49, down from $9.99. Killing Floor is also 75% off, down from $19.99 to $4.99. If you want to pick up some games, you should keep checking these Autumn Sales out. There'll be some new games discounted in around 18 hours time.
I really don't think funding is going to stop for this game, just three days ago we were reporting that Star Citizen had hit $30 million in funding, but now it has pushed through $33 million.
This means it has seen an insane $1 million per day of funding - read those two words carefully, per day. Insane amounts of money are being pumped into this game. Thanks to the $33 million funding breakthrough, two new ships have been unlocked, the Anvil Carrack and the Drake Herald. Keep checking TweakTown over the weekend, as we have some 7860x1440 benchmarks on the Hangar Module, with some interesting results.
If a job listing posted by Electronic Arts is anything to go by, we should expect a new Star Wars game to be announced soon. The company is looking for an Animation Director for EA Canada, which is for "a major new next gen open world action game".
EA Canada is also looking for an Executive Producer and a Lead Combat Designer. If you're a Star Wars fan, this should be some exciting news, especially after a few of the games and news nuggets over the years haven't really materialized into anything, yet.
Garry's Mod is a runaway success, with the pun intended for the picture below, with over 3.5 million copies sold, and rising. It is doubling its sales every year, which is impressive to say the least.
The man behind the mod, Garry Newman, attributes the success of Garry's Mod to the increasing popularity of Steam, user-generated content, and additions in titles like Team Fortress 2, as well as the video game-based footage on YouTube, and the like. For a $10 Steam title, it has pulled in over $22 million in sales since its release.
If you're experiencing issues with Battlefield 4 on your PlayStation 4, never fear, a patch is near. EA has just pushed an update out for BF4 on the PS4, which should fix those crashing issues.
The PS4 version has had issues from the get-go, but this new patch should hopefully fix things up. The updated BF4 should also include a fix for the issues involving the single-player campaign save file corruption problems, and a connection bug that involved PlayStation Plus. Aren't you glad you own a console? Where you never have issues and problems, like those troublesome PCs?
I can see it now: countless keyboard warriors attacking a game because "it has lag" or the "graphics are crap", but Valve has just announced Steam Reviews, a crowd-sourced review system on Steam.
Gamers can review any game on Steam, where Steam Reviews will show ratings from those reviews, and is in beta right now. Better yet, you'll be able to do some Review Inception, where you can rate other gamers' reviews. This could work well, but it could also open Pandora's box, too.
It looks like we really could expect Bethesda to unveil Fallout 4 very soon, right on the Thanksgiving holidays and Black Friday sales - perfect for consumers to get all excited for a new Fallout title.
A teaser site has popped up, dubbed "Survivor 2299" and it teases the game big time. There's a countdown timer included, stating that nuclear winter is coming in 5 days and counting. Are you excited about Fallout 4? I'd love to see a next-gen Fallout game released, I'd better start putting time aside to it now, I guess.
