Spider Tank, Spider Tank, do whatever a Spider Tank... uh, Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs is close to release, getting dumped into gamers hands-on May 27, but Ubisoft has just teased a massive portion of the game to Eurogamer: Spider Tank.

What is Spider Tank? Well, the video above does a great job at explaining it. In the game, your character can take a digital drug that makes you experience a massive trip, where you enter the Spider Tank and cause mass chaos. But, thanks to it being a digital trip, there are no in-game consequences.

This video also gives us a closer look at some of the in-game graphics - which are looking sublime. Personally, I think Ubisoft Montreal have fixed up the frame rate issues from previous looks at the game, as there are explosions, bullets, NPCs running around, and yet there are no framerate skips whatsoever. It probably doesn't help that we don't know what setup is running the game, but at least we know it looks great - now just give me that damn Spider Tank, oh and Watch Dogs would be nice, too.

Next-gen Call of Duty teased, Sledgehammer Games is working on it

Sledgehammer Games was showing off its new Call of Duty title at the Game Developers Conference earlier this month, but the GDC Vault has just posted up some video recordings of the conference's talks - giving us the first taste of the upcoming Call of Duty from Sledgehammer Games.

Michael Condrey, Chief Operating and Development Officer of Sledgehammer Games said at the start of the talk, something he delivered with studio co-founder Glen Schofield: "We can't talk at all about Call of Duty for this year. [Activision] said you can't show anything from Call of Duty this year, and you certainly can't show in-game rendered characters from this year's game".

The image above, reportedly features "actual in-game characters," which show that COD is getting a major injection of graphics horsepower. The studio is taking a "next-gen first" approach to development (because we've never heard that before) - meaning that the studio is working on the PS4, Xbox One and PC first and foremost.

The Batman: Arkham game series is getting its own animated feature

The animated features division of DC Comics has announced that it is working on an animated feature that is based around Rocksteady Studios' hit game, Batman: Arkham Origins. The Short animated feature will be called Batman: Assault on Arkham, and will feature voice overs by Kevin Conroy, Troy Baker, C.C.H. Pounder, and Martin Jarvis, the voice actors who make the Batman: Arkham series so good.

This animated feature is part of a larger initiative by DC comics to bring out series that its fans want to watch. This is similar to how Marvel has done with the animated features that are released between its blockbuster movies to help fill in the gaps. DC comics says that it will release two features per year, with Batman and Superman being the first two series to get animated features.

Today those numbers are still massive when compared to smartphone sales, and are a testament to how much love the Nintendo Game Boy received in the 90s and early 2000's.
