Acer has pulled the wraps off a new line of ultra-thin computer displays that are in the S1 series. The series has three screen sizes including a 20-inch, 21.5-inch, and a 23-inch size.
The smallest of the screens is only 13mm thick and the other two are 15mm thick. The displays use white LED backlights and have no hazardous substances inside.

Mitsubishi has recently added a new 23-inch LCD under its Diamondcrysta WIDE series which is available in two versions; one which is all-glossy and the other non-glare.
The Diamondcrysta WIDE RDT232WX runs a native resolution of 1920x1080 with a response time of 3.8ms. It has a 1000:1 contract ratio (or 5000:1 dynamic), 300cd/m2 brightness rating, a couple 3W built-in speakers and connectivity for D-Sub, DVI and HDMI.
Both versions of the RDT232WX 23-inch monitors are first rolling out in Japan at the end of this month, with the shiny variant costing around $465 and the non-glossy $485.
HP has just rolled out a few new value positioned widescreen LCD monitors to market for the home/office user which include the 20-inch S2031, 21.5-inch S2231 and 23-inch S2331. The two larger panels run full-HD resolutions of 1920x1080 with a max brightless level of 300 cd/m2, whilst the little 20-inch sibling runs at up to 1600x900 - 250 cd/m2.
Consistent specs between these three new budget monitors include a 15000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 5ms response time and both DVI and D-Sub connectivity.
The little S2031 will set you back $150, whilst the S2231 and S2331 come in at $175 and $200, respectively.
ViewSonic squeeze another 22-inch (21.5-inch viewable) monitor into their line-up today, with this one boasting some very impressive power savings that makes it one of the 'greenest' LCDs ViewSonic has brought to market.
With a typical power consumption of just 26W, the VX2250wm-LED is said to provide up to 40% energy savings when compared to standard CCFL-backlit displays. In terms of specs, the monitor's native resolution is 1920x1080, it has a 5ms response time, brightness of 250 cd/m2, contrast ratio at 1,000:1, a pair of built in 2W speakers and connection for D-Sub and DVI.
The VX2250wm-LED can now be pre-ordered for $190 U.S. and shipments are said to start rolling out on May 26.

Viewsonic have just complimented their range of LCDs with the introduction of their VX2739wm display, said to be the first 27" full HD monitor to market with a 1ms response time.
Along with the speedy response time, the monitor has a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and ECO mode for energy savings of up to 35%. It includes connectivity options for HDMI, DVI and D-Sub and also has a built-in 4-port USB hub. There are speakers implemented as well which provide 'SRS Premium Sound'.
