Boxee Box has evolved, the strange yet unique looking media player has just stepped into v1.1 software and is looking better than ever. The v1.1 update is rolling out over the next few days and includes a mammoth amount of fies and new features. First of all we have the huge browser update which now includes favorites, history and a better UI which now shows off more of the picture and includes more options, plus expanded HTML5 capabilities that should fix login problems for HBO Go.
The on-screen display has been tweaked and has a new seek bar for more precise FF/Rewind support as well as support for customized local metadata and NFO files (!), a new MLB.tv app and two new content partners. Volume controls have been moved and this is (according to Boxee) to put the Boxee Box in line with Blu-ray players that don't include volume adjustment. The update should be pushed out automatically, but if you are impatient and want it now, now, now then you can have a look on the Boxee Box forums.

Terminator 5 coming? Arnold Schwarzenneger is back, as he promised in Terminator 2 - directed by Fast Five director, Justin Lin?
Terminator 5 is being shopped around in Hollywood right now, the package includes Arnold Schwarzenegger, Justin Lin directing and comes in at a sweet minimum of $25 million up-front against a purchase price near $36 million - hold on while I pull my credit card out.
Lin is quite the director now which is putting him in a very good position to lead Arnold in another Terminator movie with his Fast Five international grosses being huge and the expectations of the strong domestic opening on Friday has him being targeted (by Skynet?) to direct this movie. Shouldn't be long until we have some definite news on this!

Sharp's unique press conference "Spectacularge" announced its new 70-inch LC-70LE732U is now the largest LCD HDTV on the market. The screen is powered by Quattron four color pixels, full LED backlighting, Netflix, CinemaNow, Vudu Apps and DLNA access just to name a few - but it does not include 3D.
This will be solved with new models of 70-inch LCDs from Sharp that are reported to ship this summer. Price wise it's actually not too bad with an MSRP of $3799.
Peter Jackson is shooting "The Hobbit" at 48fps, the movie industry gets a glimmer of hope for quality changes
The man of many Lord of the Ring fans wet dreams, Peter Jackson, is currently shooting The Hobbit and has taken some time out of his busy schedule to update the official Facebook account with some info on The Hobbit. He posted some production photos and an article explaining why he has decided to shoot the two-part Lord of the Rings prequel at 48 frames per second. He even took time to address critics of the move to 48fps:
Film purists will criticize the lack of blur and strobing artifacts, but all of our crew-many of whom are film purists-are now converts. You get used to this new look very quickly and it becomes a much more lifelike and comfortable viewing experience. It's similar to the moment when vinyl records were supplanted by digital CDs. There's no doubt in my mind that we're heading towards movies being shot and projected at higher frame rates. Warner Bros. have been very supportive, and allowed us to start shooting THE HOBBIT at 48 fps, despite there never having been a wide release feature film filmed at this higher frame rate. We are hopeful that there will be enough theaters capable of projecting 48 fps by the time The Hobbit comes out where we can seriously explore that possibility with Warner Bros.
