The new son of Krypton is, Henry Cavill. Warner Bros and Zack Synder (of Watchmen and 300 fame) are rebooting Superman and have finally cast The Man of Steel. The company sent out a press release this morning announcing it.
There are no hard details on the movie yet, but the casting is now done for the main character and from the above photoshopped image, it doesn't look too bad at all! Hopefully they're smart in their casting of Lois, Zod, Luthor, etc.
A film based on the PlayStation 3-exclusive title Heavy Rain is coming to a theatre near you soon. The Warner Bros. production is being prepped by NYPD Blue and Deadwood creator David Milch.
Milch is in charge of making the film from David Cage's Heavy Rain and it said to be named "Rain". Milch will get his hands dirty with production once he has completed work on the first season of HBO's new series based on horse-racing, Luck. No release date has been mentioned.
Came across this on my daily troll of websites, a clip from a 2010 Indian science-fiction film Enthiran. The clip is just crazy-insane with over-the-top action, it combines Terminator with The Matrix and even then, those movies seem tame compared to this!
Co-written and directed by S. Shankar, Enthiran is reported to be one of the most expensive films made in India. It includes Rajinikanth in dual roles, a scientist who is struggling to control his android robot created, whilst simultaneously playing the actual Android. The movie was shot over a two year period beginning in 2008 after eight years in development.
Update; I've been informed this is a fake, sad face ahoy.
Obviously the rabbit hole goes deeper than Morpheus first said in the original Matrix, with news coming out that Keanu Reeves has met with the Wachowski Brothers (well, one brother and now a sister) over Christmas.
Keanu Reeves was at the London School of Performing Arts University where he was the guest of honor, he was promoting his new film Henry's Crime and then answered a bunch of questions, where he says he met the Wachowski's over Christmas and they had worked on a two picture script that would provide a return to the world of The Matrix as Neo.
Back in 1996 when the original Scream came out, I was young, just 13. I remember my parents borrowing the VHS (ha!!) from the local video store and telling us it was a horror. I didn't think much at the time, but that movie defined my childhood. It was a smash hit everywhere and was a great new entry in the horror genre. I can nearly talk every line from the movie from watching it that much as a teenager... and now? The sequel to the original trilogy! JOY!
The trailer doesn't show off too much, but goes into how there is now an entire new spin on horror since the first tongue-in-cheek stuff from the original trilogy about the "rules" of horror. The rules have changed and so has Scream - cannot wait for this one!!
The market for connected TVs and other devices like game consoles, set-top boxes, and Blu-ray players is booming. The ability to surf the web and stream content online from connected home theater gear is become common on many high-end and mid-range offerings. Not all of the devices will let the user actually explore the full internet though. Sony has announced that it has chosen Opera as the browser for its LCD TVs and connected Blu-ray players.
The browser for the Sony hardware uses the Opera Devices Software Development kit as a framework for web-standards based solutions and web surfing on the connected devices. The browser will be able to deliver web apps, widgets, full web browsing, and supports standards like HTML5, HbbTV, and OIPF.
With the addition of the browser to the Sony TVs and Blu-ray players users will need one less device to access the web when watching TV on a big screen. Opera offers no exact date on when we will see the browser surface on Sony hardware.
"The Web as we know it is evolving, and we are committed to making it more accessible across diverse devices," said Christen Krogh, Chief Development Officer, Opera Software. "Our ability to address key hybrid broadcast-broadband initiatives in numerous markets makes us a natural fit with Sony. By delivering both a global viewpoint and the necessary technology, we are able to stay on the cutting edge of the industry."
Got an AppleTV? Want to get your jailbreak-thang on? Here's your Seas0nPass. Seas0nPass is the Apple TV jailbreak app which allows a quick and easy jailbreak on most systems, this allows a user to install extra apps including XBox Media Center, Boxee and Plex.
Right now the jailbreak doesn't offer much - think of non-jailbreak as a brick wall, jailbreak as a door through that brick wall and right now the room is empty and dark. Soon the room will be filled with love, lollipops and the above programs.
Bang & Olufsen have been around for a long time and it makes some very high-end home theater and audio gear. B&O has been offering some expensive HDTVs for years now and the one thing that it really doesn't have is a connected TV. Connected TVs are the big thing from TV makers right now even if many consumers aren't ready to bite.
Bang & Olufsen have announced that it has teamed up with Intel to get the latest Intel tech to roll into a new product. The new product will be a connected TV it seems with B&O CEO Kalle Hvidt Nielsen talking about the convergence of the PC, TV and audio solutions into one.
I would bet that we would see some interesting audio tech rolled into other solutions since B&O are famous for high-end audio. "During this convergence of PC, TV and audio technologies, this strategic cooperation with Intel is hugely important to Bang & Olufsen. We looking forward to working with Intel on creating unique product solutions for the future," says Kalle Hvidt Nielsen, Bang & Olufsen President & CEO.

CES 2011, Las Vegas - There are a couple real interesting nuggets of information from what we are about to tell you here from our second product look at the Sapphire earlier on yesterday in crazy town Vegas.
Where shall we start with this one? Sapphire has been a big AMD supporter for as long as I can remember, they bust out Radeon after Radeon and see some of the best sales results on the market.
When Bill from Sapphire showed us their new "Mini PC" as it is known for now since it is not yet fully completed, I could have sworn he said ION. But then he said it again and he even said NVIDIA. So, yes folks, Sapphire is mixing things up and getting ready some NVIDIA based products which is real interesting and getting its nose into what they are calling "lifestyle products".
In the video below you get a look at the upcoming "Sapphire Mini PC with some numbers behind it" product and just how small it is, yet how capable it is as a computer.
