The latest Pacific Rim trailer is here and boy does it rock!

Guillermo del Toro's latest movie is nearly here folks, and before we all go and see Pacific Rim, you should check out the latest trailer which should have you buying pre-sale tickets.

Yeah, thought so. The last trailer before Pacific Rim hits theaters concentrates on the human side of things, showing off less of the actual fighting. But, it gets the idea that it's pretty much the end of the world, and this is their last chance. Get ready for some special effects porn like nothing else.

Terminator reboot coming in 2015, would be the first movie of a new trilogy

Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions and Annapurna Pictures have just announced that they are rebooting the Terminator franchise, with 'Terminator' launching on June 26, 2015.

We thought it would be another movie in the Terminator world we know and love, rumored to be 'Terminator 5', but this is going to be a rebooted movie and the first in a stand-alone trilogy. At first, I thought this would be a mess, but I'm actually excited at the possibilities of this. A rebooted trilogy would give the movies a much better chance of succeeding.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is getting too old to play the Terminator, with a rebooted trilogy being a better way of getting a younger actor in and changing the story up a bit. It has worked well with Man of Steel, which told a different origin story and a very different way of having the movie play out (through flashbacks) so a new Terminator reboot could be a good thing.

FCC listing outs new Roku Streaming Stick remote with headphone audio jack

A newly discovered filing by Roku with the FCC reveals a new remote for the company's Streaming Stick. The new remote features an audio out jack for use with headphones at times when you do not wish for the TV's audio to disturb others.

With only two batteries for power, issues of battery longevity have arisen, but as Engadget reports in their testing of previous models, the batteries lasted for hours even with headphones plugged in. No word when the new model will be released or on any pricing or retail partners.

Korean trailer for 'The Terror Live' has been accused of copying Battlefield 3

The trailer to a South Korean movie is being accusing of ripping of Battlefield 3. The suspense movie 'The Terror Live' has a trailer that builds up like Battlefield 3, but those end credits will have you thinking "hey, wait a minute..." - so check out the trailer below. We've included Battlefield 3's trailer, too.

Once those title credits hit, it'll all become clear. What I got from this, is that I want to see the movie! Lotte Entertainment, the movie's distributor, told ThisIsGame: "The Terror Live has elements in which a terrorist act is being covered live, and this could be similar to video games. Thus, since the movie tried to convey same feeling you get from video games through sound, it may have ended up evoking a similar sensation."

Resident Evil 6 is coming, will be released in 2014 with Milla Jovovich returning once again

The Resident Evil movies have been a fun ride, where they have evolved out of the first one to somewhat of a crazy action movie. I don't know if the quality of the movies are slipping, but they're still making large sums of money for Sony's Screen Gems.

They've just confirmed a release date of September 12, 2014 for Resident Evil 6, which should start filming this fall. Milla Jovovich will return as Alice, and we should hear more about the movie in the near future - where we should hear the official title for the movie in the coming months.

Intel's so-called "cable killing" set-top box in alpha testing phase with employees

Intel is working very hard on a top-secret project that has the potential to greatly shake up the pay-TV market. Known as "Project Black Box," the set-top box and associated television service are poised to take advertisers by storm by paying as much as 75 percent more than traditional content providers.

TweakTown image news/3/1/31333_1_intel_s_so_called_cable_killing_set_top_box_in_alpha_testing_phase_with_employees.jpg

Intel is able to do this because the box is said to utilize a built-in camera that will collect data on viewers' habits. Yes, you read that correctly, Intel's set-top box will record everything you do in front of your TV, and then feed that information back to its advertisers to help better target you with ads.

CNET reported today that more than 2,000 Intel employees in the Northern California, Arizona, and Oregon areas are currently testing the new pay-TV service. It is unknown when the set-top box and service will launch, but Intel does say that there will be substantial changes made to the final version such as how users navigate the system and how content is served.

Now for my rant of the day: How anyone thinks that this is a good idea is far beyond me. The simple fact that Microsoft's Xbox One generated massive fallout because it was always listening to everything you do should raise many red flags for Intel. The idea of a little camera watching and recording everything I do and then feeding it back to advertisers is on an entirely new level of creepiness. However, given the fact that secretive data collected on persons is often referred to as "intel" within government entities, is only fitting that a company whose name is spelled the same build the device the records everything you do. On the other hand, I bet the NSA, CIA, and other PRISM affiliates love the idea of a little camera in every living room.

Will Smith is 'too expensive' to come back for Independence Day 2

Last week Fox confirmed that Independence Day 2 was coming out in 2015, but neglected to reveal if the main draw card actor - Will Smith - would be returning for the alien invasion sequel.

Roland Emmerich, director of Independence Day and the upcoming Independence Day 2, has confirmed that Will Smith will not be returning, where he told NY Daily News: "Will Smith can not come back because he's too expensive, but he'd also be too much of a marquee name, It would be too much." The director did hint at who would return, where it will be a mix of old and new: "We have like maybe half of the people that you know would know from the first film (in the script) and the other half people who are new."

Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldbum will be returning, most likely because they have nothing else better to do. Emmerich confirmed that the movie will be a direct sequel, but has fans (like myself) excited with the following quote: "We're not doing a total reboot, we're doing something that's totally unusual."

Man of Steel's epic city damage professionally estimated to cost Metropolis $700 billion

I wrote my love letter about Man of Steel in a review for TweakTown, and in my original draft I did ask about the damage of the city - and just the insurance companies would be scratching their heads at claims of an "alien attacked my apartment and it's now gone, there's no evidence", etc.

TweakTown image news/3/1/31150_07_man_of_steel_s_epic_city_damage_professionally_estimated_to_cost_metropolis_700_billion.jpg

Well, BuzzFeed has worked with disaster experts Watson Technical Consulting to estimate the amount of damage that was done to Metropolis during Man of Steel's absolutely mind-blowing action set pieces would've really cost. They ran simulations on Manhattan and Chicago which gave them an idea of what the cost would've been. The WTC estimates that around 129,000 people would've been killed, over 250,000 left missing and over one million people injured in total.

As for the cost of the God vs. God fight between Superman and General Zod - which left me with goosebumps - we're looking at physical damage of around $700 billion (or $700,000,000,000). Compared to 9/11 which was $55 billion in damages. The WTC estimates that the entire economic impact of the two Kryptonian's to sit at around $2 trillion.

Netflix scores deal with DreamWorks to produce 300+ hours of original content

Netflix, the streaming heavyweight, has scored a massive deal with DreamWorks to bring no less than 300 hours of original content to its customers. This content could end up being new series featuring some of DreamWorks' most cherished characters. Details for the deal are a bit scarce at the moment, but Wall Street doesn't seem to care.

TweakTown image news/3/1/31103_1_netflix_scores_deal_with_dreamworks_to_produce_300_hours_of_original_content.jpg

Original content could prove extremely costly. In the face of this fact, Netflix shares have risen around 8 percent today on the news of the deal. This deal should boost Netflix even further ahead of its competition. Its competitors can either start spending money on original content or focus on getting older content for cheap.
