Our App of the Day today is Reqvu for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS 4.0 or later.
We saw Kevin Rose's Oink app come out recently which takes location based check-ins a step further by being able to rate things inside places you visit and everything in general. Reqvu also does more than the standard check-in using location services and allows you to request videos and pictures from friends at certain locations around the world.
You can announce to your friends where you are by checking-in and then in Action Mode you can say that you are ready to take videos and photos for them to see. I saw a beta preview of this several weeks ago and it looked great, I'm going to give the final version a try right now.
Our App of the Day today is Apple Store 2.0 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS 4.2 or later.
Apple just took the covers off version 2.0 of its Apple Store app.
New in this version is Personal Pickup which allows you to buy your Apple product in the app and select your nearest store for pick up, only in the USA though. Also new is EasyPay (again only for the USA) which allows you to use your iTunes credit to buy products in-store yourself.
When you're on the go, the Apple Store app is the best way to research, personalize, and buy products from Apple, and get help at the Apple Retail Store. It's also the easiest way to get a new iPhone - right from your current iPhone.*
Here's what you can do with the Apple Store app on your iPhone or iPod touch:
- Buy products on the go and pick them up at your favorite Apple Retail Store, or have
them shipped to your door.
- Personalize an iPad or an iPod with free engraving, plus get signature gift wrapping for
select Apple products.
- Buy an iPhone with just a few taps.*
- While in an Apple Store, quickly purchase accessories on your own with EasyPay
(requires iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S)
- Request help, check in for reservations, and meet up with a Specialist at the store.

MSI's Afterburner overclocking app is pretty amazing, and today they've launched the Afterburner App for the iOS platform. iPhone and iPad users can now download and install the Afterburner app from Apple's App Store, which allows you to wirelessly monitor and overclock graphics cards over a Wi-Fi network!
Not only that, but MSI are running a competition from now until December 3, where all you have to do is share your experience and photos from using the Afterburner app on your blog and you will have the chance to win a Lightning series graphics card or MSI tablet!
Our App of the Day today is Oink for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS 4.2 or later.
Location based apps such as Foursquare are all the range on smartphones thanks to the introduction of GPS on the phone.
Kevin Rose's Milk Inc. has just taken the covers off their first app, Oink. Yeah, like the pig "oink" "oink". It uses your location to find nearby places and instead of checking in, you rate products and services offered by those nearby stores, restaurants and so on.
Be careful of your first "oink" notification, it scared the crap out of me. Heh!
Oink is an easy way to rate and rank the things around you. Instead of just rating places, you rate the items inside. You could easily find the most popular items on a menu and see if a friend has tried anything there. Then if there's something you like, it's just a single press to rate it and share it with friends.

Well, its not everyday your smartphone can be a superhero, but for some poor fello in NYC, it seems the latest iPhone incarnation has. The MacRumors forum is buzzing from a story that this man found out that his wife was lying to him. The man is actually already filing for divorce, and you can find all of the details in the below quote and picture:
I got my wife a new 4s and loaded up find my friends without her knowing. She told me she was at her friends house in the east village. I've had suspicions about her meeting this guy who lives uptown. Lo and behold, Find my Friends has her right there. I just texted her asking where she was and the dumb b!otch said she was on 10th Street!! Thank you Apple, thank you App Store, thank you all. These beautiful treasure trove of screen shots going to play well when I meet her a$$ at the lawyer's office in a few week.

Our App of the Day today is Apple iMessage for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad with iOS 5 or later.
Okay, our AOTD is a little different today. We're are featuring an Apple made "app" called iMessage.
It's the new messaging service built into iOS 5 and it rocks. Why? How about being able to send completely free text messages to other friends who are also using iOS 5.0? Yep, it does and you can also send pictures and video, too. It's fast too and works very well.
The annoying part is that your friend or contact needs to have iOS 5.0 and there is really no way of knowing if they are on iOS 5.0 or not without asking them or just trying for a response. I'd love to see Apple make some adjustments so in your contacts list a person with iMessage support was highlighted with a support icon or something similar.
Do you reckon the folks over at WhatsApp Messenger are a little nervous right now? I'd say so... they did make their app free for 24 hours to regions that usually need to pay this past day. Apple iMessage is not perfect yet and not up to what WhatsApp can do (sharing your location, for example), but I'm sure we'll see improvements over time.
