Want to feel old? The Nintendo Game Boy is 25 years old today

Twenty-five years ago today, Nintendo released a handheld gaming unit that would change the world and drive AA battery sales through the roof. The Nintendo Game Boy first launched in Japan today back in 1989, and its dull green and grey display amazed gamers and techies of the day. Retailing for $89.99 the Game Boy required four AA batteries and provided more than 10-hours of game-play before needing to change batteries.

The Game Boy saw more than 300,000 sales in Japan in just two weeks after its launch, and more than 40,000 on the first day of sales in the US. Over the next decade and a half, the Nintendo Game Boy line of handheld gaming units sold more than 118.69 million units total. Today those numbers are still massive when compared to smartphone sales, and are a testament to how much love the Nintendo Game Boy received in the 90s and early 2000's.

Star Citizen detailed in a massive 40-minute video

Star Citizen was detailed during a video we posted during PAX East, but now there's a 40-minute video that has details about more aspects of the game. The video can be seen below.

In the clip, there's some edited footage of Chris Roberts playing Star Citizen on stage, a special follow-up that shows off some of Star Citizen's advanced features. Some of these shown off features include stealth maneuvering and leaving your ship so that you can take a zero-G walk around the dark beyond.

Sony has great things to say about DayZ when talking about H1Z1

Sony Online Entertainment President, John Smedley, participated in a Reddit AMA, where he talked about the similarities between the upcoming MMO from the company H1Z1, and the already popular DayZ.

TweakTown image news/3/7/37151_01_sony_has_great_things_to_say_about_dayz_when_talking_about_h1z1.jpg

He said: "Not going to give some politically correct dodgy b.s. answer. H1Z1 is a survival in a Zombie Apocalypse game. So is DayZ. They have made a brilliant game (first I might add). So sure. We're another Zombie Apocalypse game. Call it what it is. But our goal is to make ours fun, accessible, hard core and super, super deep".

Smedley continued: "This is our take on the Zombie Apocalypse with a lot of friends and hopefully some great enemies both living and dead. We're proud to be up front and say we love DayZ and the job they've done and we hope they enjoy what we make, too". H1Z1 does have quite a big difference when held up against DayZ, where it will allow gamers to create "structures, forts and towns" to stop the zombies from coming in. H1Z1 will also feature "a deep in-game economy that is heavily dependent on crafting. Players will be able to become manufacturers ... sell bullets, arrows ... etc. The in-game economy will be entirely player driven".

H1Z1 arrives on Steam Early Access in the next couple of weeks for just $20, after which it will launch sometime in the near future on the PlayStation 4.

Atari Minimum crafting combat game coming to PC

If you are a fan of Minecraft, you may be familiar with some of the mods out there that turn the game into a shooter of sorts. Atari is getting a game ready called Minimum that reminds me a lot of Minecraft focusing heavily on crafting, but having a lot of third-person shooter aspects as well.

In Minimum, players will use blueprints and acquire the materials needed to build their own weapons and armor. Once those weapons and armor are done, players will wear it into combat. As you kill more enemy players, the armor and weapons power up making the character more powerful.

Hitman Go brings Agent 47 to iPhone and iPad

If you are a fan of shooting games that also require a bit of stealth and finesse to win, you may be familiar with the game Hitman. There has been a bunch of games in the franchise over the years with the last one being Hitman: Absolution. If you are an iOS mobile gamer a new mobile Hitman game has landed.

The game is called Hitman Go and it is different from the other games in the franchise. Rather than letting you choose a path to victory, this game is a turn-based game that focuses on getting from point A to point B undetected.

Sony wanted Respawn to make a PS Vita version of Titanfall

Sony gamers are left out of enjoying the cool game Respawn hit the market with not long ago called Titanfall. Titanfall is only offered for PC gamers and Xbox consoles. That means if you are on the PS4 or PS3, you are out of luck.

Details have surfaced indicating that before Respawn signed that exclusive deal with Microsoft, the game developer had approached Sony and asked for details on the PS4 to make the game. Sony reportedly told Respawn that it wasn't ready to talk about the console.

Sony is also said to have liked the game well enough to try to talk Respawn into making a version of Titanfall for the PS Vita portable. Since the game is exclusive with Microsoft now, Respawn clearly turned Sony down. You have to wonder if Sony had coughed up the specs for the console if Titanfall might be available for PS4 gamers right now.

The Super Mario Bros theme played on wine glasses is awesome

The Super Mario Bros. theme music is one of the most iconic soundtracks in gaming history, and it has been recreated by symphonies, guitarist, and even robots with stepper motors, but this video of the soundtrack being played on 48 wine glasses is perhaps the best I have ever heard. The video below was made by a YouTuber called Dan Newbie who was asked to play the SMB theme music by another YouTuber who commented on a previous video.

Dan Newbie has also recreated the song "Let it go" from Disney's Frozen and "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. I would like to see Newbie pull off some soundtracks from popular TV shows like Game of Thrones, The Simpsons, and a wine glass rendition of Sweet Child of Mine would be especially awesome!

Snoop Dogg will announce your kills in new Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC

Call of Duty: Ghosts' upcoming DLC will see Snoop Dogg as the announcer for multiplayer matches of Infinity Ward's first-person shooter. Snoop Dogg didn't write the lines, but he seems like a natural at speaking them.

The new Snoop Dogg-enabled Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC drops on April 22 for the Xbox, with other platforms receiving it shortly after. The Snoop Dogg Voice Pack will cost $2.99, but it isn't the only one that will be made available. There will be the Drill Instructor Voice Pack that is voiced by the infamous R. Lee Emery, known as The Gunny, also for $2.99.

Does this make you want to play COD: Ghosts more? I'm sure there will be a large number of people who will be in love with this news.
