Later on today at the big IDF show over in San Fran, CoolIT will take the covers off its latest product - MTEC Docking Station to put a name to it, which are just fancy words for a laptop cooling pad, pretty much.

The super doper notebook pad claims to add a 40 watt cooling boost with a 10 degree decrease in temperature. It is designed specifically for notebooks running Intel's Core 2 Extreme mobile processor such as the high powered quad-core QX9300. It will also cool down other parts of the notebook internals, too.

It is said to work by pumping chilled air directly into the laptop's existing CPU and GPU intakes while guiding all heat exhaust through the rear of the dock.

Since not all notebooks are created equally with cooling vents in different locations on different models, it would be interesting to know many notebooks would work properly with this product.
