ASUS go "Extreme" with ROG Rampage

Nordic Hardware has acquired a bunch of glorious photos and details showing off ASUS' Rampage "Extreme", and Extreme certainly fits the bill here.

ASUS X48 Rampage Extreme

As a member of ASUS' enthusiast/overclocking focused Republic of Gamers Series, the X48 based Rampage Formula was already quite a beast, but this new Extreme model takes a big leap forward from that with DDR3 memory support, eight SATA ports, a whopping 16 phases of power for the CPU, Fusion Block hybrid water-cooling system (this is one very heatsink happy motherboard), SupremeFX "X-Fi" Audio and of course dual x16 PCI 2.0 slots.

Additional icing on the cake comes in the form of a very interesting new overclocking feature ASUS simply calls TweakIt. Unlike anything ever seen before, ASUS have designed a system whereby the user can fine-tune (overclock) the platform physically on the motherboard itself, without the need for BIOS or Windows adjustments to be made. As the settings are adjusted, these are reflected on the included LCD display; all very fancy stuff.

Pricing hasn't yet been disclosed, but it's pretty obvious you'll be needing mighty deep pockets for this sucker.
