NVIDIA's upcoming GT200 details leaked everywhere

By: (more) | Posted: Jun 11, 2008 9:29 am

In the last 24 hours, NVIDIA's upcoming GT200 graphics chip is the star of our news inbox. Details keep coming in like there is no tomorrow. Where do we begin?

First of all, the folks over at VR-Zone managed to get hold of what they are calling production shots of the GT200 but they are so blurry, it would be a little hard to tell for sure. Maybe next time you can upgrade from your webcam? You can find all the pictures here anyway.

Next up Slobodan Simic from Fudzilla managed to snap a screenshot of an ENGTX280/HTDP/1G GTX280 CTLR1GB DDR3 PCI-E DVI-IX2 HDTV from ASUS being listed from a French online retailer for a rather steep €575 (or a little under $900 USD). At launch the price will be probably lower or at least we hope so.

Another German retailer couldn't wait and listed a GT200 model which saw core clock at 602MHz, 1GB of GDDR3 memory clocked at 1105MHz (2210MHz DDR) and shaders clocked at 1296MHz with 240 stream processors. Fuad Abazovic also from Fudzilla claims that the high-end GT200 model will consume up to 236 watts of power (with one 8-pin and one 6-pin power connector) while the lower clocked and cheaper GT200 model will eat up 225 watts of power with two 6-pin power connectors.

NVIDIA's upcoming GPU is due to be released rather soon - stay tuned for our full review.
