Transformers Blu-ray - It's Official

Paramount Home Entertainment U.S. have announced full details for the Blu-ray edition of Transformers. The 2 disc release, which hits US stores on September 2nd, will be a mirror of the previously released HD-DVD disc, but adds on an uncompressed PCM audio track (instead of the lossy Dolby Digital soundtrack on the HD-DVD) and a new video encode, supervised by Michael Bay himself, which takes full advantage of the higher bitrates available on Blu-ray. The disc will also utilise BD Live!, but without specifics.

 

Paramount Home Entertainment Australia have yet to make a similar announcement, but they would be crazy to miss the Christmas window.
