Hypersonic Avenger AG2 12" gets reviewed

After OCZ’s purchase of Hypersonic into its growing technology group, exposure of the performance orientated notebooks are starting to increase.

Rob Williams over at Techgage has taken a close look at the Hypersonic Avenger AG2 12" notebook which is not for sale just yet but should be soon. We actually got our sample via DHL today and will have our full review online soon. The crew over at Hypersonic manages to pack in an Intel 45nm Penyrn 6MB T9300 processor running at 2.5GHz, 4GB of low latency OCZ DDR2 memory, fast 200GB 7,200 RPM hard drive with about the only thing lacking being graphics.

The 12” LCD screen will render you a resolution of 1280 x 800 and should be perfect for users looking for high performance on the road. This optioned out model will set you back around $1550, which according to Techgage, is much more affordable than the competition.

The battery-life is another thing that could have been better, but where performance is the preferred, it's an unavoidable trade-off. You will have the option to purchase an additional battery, however. Since they rather small, they can be carried pretty much anywhere. You might hear the occasional, "Hey! Is that a Hypersonic AG2 battery in your pocket, or are you..."

After taking everything into consideration, I am awarding the Avenger AG2 a well-deserved Editor's Choice award. This is the first time I've ever touched a Hypersonic notebook, and I'm left impressed. The AG2 is affordable, powerful and compact. There's not much to dislike.
