Roboswift Surveillance Bird

Eye in the sky
By: John Freeman | Posted: Mar 6, 2008 9:45 pm

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It's definitely not Superman! The Roboswift is a robotic bird with morphing wing technology designed to covertly monitor crowds in civil unrest situations, or if used in documentaries to get up close and personal with elusive wildlife.

Admittedly its most useful aspect will be that it appears very much like a bird, and so can be dismissed by watchful eyes as a natural bird. The camera inserted into the bird is not the best of quality, but it does its job quite well.

Unfortunately for the Roboswift, the inventors will have to spend more time perfecting the flight ability of the device if it is to develop any further.
