Panasonic to release Class 6 32GB SDHC

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Feb 12, 2008 10:41 pm

SanDisk just recently announced the world's first 32GB SDHC memory card which has a Class 4 speed rating. Now Panasonic have joined them at the top of the pile with another 32GB SDHC card hitting the market, however this one is actually a Class 6 card which is capable of a transfer speed of around 20 MB/s.

As always though, when you want the best of the best, you pay ever so dearly for it. This card is said to carry with it a price tag just shy of $700.

More details at CNNMoney.

Considered as "ideal" for AVCHD High Definition video recording, the 32GB card can hold up to 12 hours of 1440 x 1080i video or 4 hours of 1920 x 1080i content. It will also come equipped with a new labeling feature, which allows users to write titles or comments directly onto labels on the front and back of the card. This beefy Class 6 32GB SDHC card will become available in April and will cost $699.
