ASUS to further expand the Eee family

By: (more) | Posted: Jan 30, 2008 11:19 pm

According to this story posted over at DIGITIMES, ASUS are expanding their existing Eee PC range with some product lines to cover more than just the notebook market segment.

These new Eee products will include the E-DT which is short for DeskTop PC as well as the E-TV and E-Monitor.

The first E-DT will adopt an Intel Celeron processor, while later generations will adopt Intel's Shelton'08 platform with Diamondville processors and the 945GC chipset.

The E-Monitor will be an all-in-one device similar to Apple's iMac and Dell's XPS One. E-Monitor will cut into the 19-21-inch market and will come with a built-in TV tuner.

Finally, the E-TV will compete in the over 42-inch LCD TV market, but will integrate the Linux-based PC functionality of other Eee PC products.

You can gather up a few more details about the aforementioned products over at DIGITIMES folks.
