BFG watercools the G92 8800GTS

Published: 1st January 2008 @ 8:23 PM
Author: Steve Dougherty

BFG has just beefed up the new G92 based 8800GTS graphics card with an "OC2 WC" version with ThermoIntelligence, this variant sporting a custom built water block co-developed by Danger Den. BFG promises temps of up to 30c lower on the GPU with this card over the stock cooled models.

The overclock is still a little on the mild side, but I would presume BFG has made sure to leave some headroom in place for the user to decide how far to push it. The core runs at 700MHz (vs 650MHz standard) whilst the shader clock runs at 1728MHz (vs 1625MHz standard) and memory left stock at 1940MHz.

You can learn more about the card at BFG's website and also within this product spec sheet folks.

Featuring the new ThermoIntelligence™ custom copper water block co-developed by BFG and Danger Den™, the BFG NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800 GTS OC2™ 512MB Water Cooled Edition graphics card offers exceptional thermal performance in a single slot design which frees up valuable space for other add-in cards. This water block replaces the standard double slot 8800 GTS fansink for those who currently own or are purchasing a PC water cooling system.
