NVIDIA's nForce 780i almost ready

Rumour has it that we won't be waiting much longer to (finally) see a killer SLI-ready desktop chipset hit the market for the Intel platform. This will be in the form of the nForce 780i chipset from NVIDIA.

 

Nordic Hardware report that the chipset was actually supposed to be ready earlier this month, however a few minor issues have brought on the delay; though they are still apparently aiming to wrap things up for 780i within the next month and begin mass-shipping to partners.

 


We got some strong responses on the article we published a week ago on the problems with the coming nForce chipset. The chipset was suppose to arrive earlier this month, but due to issues with the just launched Yorkfield-based processor Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650, the launch was postponed until December.
