Interview with Creative on PCIe X-Fi

The folks over at Playreaction.com have arranged a chat with Creative's senior brand manager for audio, DDarragh O'Toole. The main purpose of the discussion was to dig a little deeper about X-Fi's future in terms of it coming out in the form of PCI-Express.

 

It'll definitely arrive, and very soon. There'll be some minor enhancements to the PCI-e variant but for the most part it will remain the same.

Creative are finalising their first X-Fi Xtreme Audio retail card in PCI-Express format. Set for a October release, this new card is serving as an integration test for Creative's PCI-E cards. Altough the Xtreme Audio may not be gamer's nirvana, we have been promised that the rest of the series will follow in the near future. In the meantime, read our interview with Creative Personell, straight from cloudy Dublin.
