AMD Releases Catalyst 7.9 Drivers

By: (more) | Posted: Sep 11, 2007 5:28 am

Today bring us the release of a new set of Catalyst drivers from AMD in the form of the 7.9s. There's apparently a lot of performance improvements to be had with upgrading to these latest drivers, with Far Cry performance bringing as much as a 14% increase on HD 2000 series cards along with significant jumps in performance across other popular gaming titles.

A couple of new features have also been added to the latest suite, there is now a Color Temperature Control section in the Control center which allows HD 1 and 2K owners to adjust the chromatic level shown on their display.

Windows Vista x64 also gets a fully functional Avivo Video Convertor which lets users transcode video files across many formats.

You can check out all the highlights of the 7.9 drivers here, or just head straight over to AMD's newly launched "GAME!" website to download them folks.
