Razer updates the Diamondback

Get 3rd Gen sensor

| Posted: Jul 26, 2007 8:08 am

Razer has announced that it has upgraded the Razer Diamondback mouse with a 3rd generation infrared sensor. The updated version will be known as the Diamondback 3G, although don't think you'll be able to make phone calls with it…

It will be available in three colours, just as the old version, but it has been given a new rubberized non-slip finish to allow for a firmer grip all over the mouse. The sensor has been improved from 1,600dpi to 1,800dpi. It also retains the seven programmable buttons and the on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment,

The scroll wheel has also been improved and thanks to the new sensor, it now does 60 inches per second, compared to 40 inches per second of the old version. The Diamondback 3G will be available from the beginning of August for pre-order on the Razer website and those pre-ordering will get a 20 percent discount of the US$59.99 retail price.
