The famous Swedish overclocker Kinc, has once again broken the world record in 3DMark 05, this time with a Radeon HD 2900 XT CrossFire rig. The system consisted of two Asus Radeon HD 2900 XT cards, overclocked to 880MHz for the core and 1,980MHz for the memory, an Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 at 5,431MHz, a pair of Corsair 6400C3 memory modules and an Asus P5W64 WS Pro motherboard.
Kinc reached no less than 34,126 points in 3DMark 05 and you can check out the official score here. Kinc doesn't think he's reached the limit of the Radeon HD 2900 XT's yet and it seems like his next aim is to break the 35,000 barrier.
We brought a pair of ASUS Radeon HD 2900 XT to DreamHack Summer 2007 for overclocking and perhaps trying to set some new records, however the cards did not cooperate back then. It's a shame to give up on a product with such potential so Kinc decided to give it another go and this time the cards played along nicely.
