WD Raptor to soon be rivaled

Faster to become cheaper

It's certainly taken longer than many of us expected but finally there looks to be some stern competition on the way for Western Digital's Raptor series of 10,000RPM hard drives.

 

Word from ChileHardware has it that Seagate are working on their own mass-produced 10,000RPM drive at the moment. This is great news whether you're a WD or Seagate fan, as competition has a tendancy to drive prices down.

 

Unfortunately thats all we know at this stage, with no actual information about the drives specs/launch date/pricing yet.
