Albatron launches it 8400GS

By: (more) | Posted: Jun 20, 2007 9:19 am

Albatron is another company that is quick out to announce availability of its 8400GS based graphics card for the entry level market. The 8400GS will take up the fight with AMD's Radeon HD 2400 Pro for the battle of the budget market and it will be interesting to see which one comes out on top.

It's most likely going to be a fight over who has the best HD video playback engine and who is going to be able to charge the least for their cards. It's unlikely that either of these entry level cards will be able to play the latest DX10 titles at any kind of resolution, hardware support or not.

The Albatron card is clocked at 450MHz with 256MB of 64-bit DDR2 memory at 400MHz. It's a low profile card with DVI with HDCP support, D-sub and TV-Out.
