36cm case fan from XClio

36cm case fan from XClio news post from TweakTown's online news computing and technology content pages

Sometimes things just goes one step too far and XClio seems to have just done this with its new A380Plus case which features a side mounted 36cm fan as well as a front mounted 25cm fan. It's succeeding the A380 that has been available since last year and looks quite similar apart from the mad 36cm side mounted fan. Big fans are good, as it means lower rotational speed for the same airflow, but there got to be a limit on how big these fans have to be.

The 36cm fan is rated at a mere 250-600rpm, while the front 25cm fan is rated at 600-1,000rpm. The 36cm offers airflow of 90.5 - 205.36CFM and a noise level of 22.08 - 30.93dB depending on speed. The case features five 5.25-inch drive bays, one external 3.5-inch and seven internal 3.5-inch drive bays. Drive installation is tool less thanks to a wide array of plastic drive rails that clip onto your drives. It also has two front mounted USB 2.0 ports and a FireWire port.

It's not yet up on the Xclio website, but you can find some more information about the case here
