E-Ten Glofiish X500+ arrives

By: (more) | Posted: May 9, 2007 3:19 am

E-Ten has announced its updated version of the Glofiish X500, the X500+. Except for the slightly lame naming schemes the E-Ten devices are quite decent Windows Mobile devices, although E-Ten has as yet to sign up with a network provider to supply these devices at a subsidized price with a contract. The hardware specs haven't really changed too much from the original X500 as the plus is still using the same 400MHz Samsung processor, still has 128MB of ROM and 64MB RAM, a 2Mpixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0, b & g Wi-Fi, GPS receiver, FM radio and finally Quad Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE.

But the OS has been upgraded to Windows Mobile 6 Pro and the screen resolution has been boosted from 240x320 to 480x640 making this one of way too few VGA capable Windows Mobile devices. The Glofiish X500+ measures 113.5x60.5x15.5 mm (HxWxD) which is reasonably pocket friendly considering its size. It also features a micro SD memory card slot for memory expansion and it will be available in black or silver once it hits retail. It's a shame it lacks 3G as this would've made it a very competitive device, but there always seems to be compromises made to fit the right price bracket.

E-Ten hasn't updated its press release section as yet, but you can visit the E-Ten website by clicking here
