Transcend Releases its New ExpressCard/34 Solid State Disk, Up to 16GB

Transcend are one of many companies getting aboard the quickly growing solid-state storage market, having today announced their new ExpressCard/34 SSD series. These are ExpressCard slot based solutions for notebook computers, they range from 2GB to 16GB in size.

The ExpressCard/34 SSD (Solid State Disk) has a huge capacity (up to 16GB) and low power consumption, which makes it perfect for use as a mobile storage solution in notebook computers with ExpressCard™ slot. This type of slot is a new standard developed by PCMCIA to carry forward the benefits of 'plug-in' I/O cards to the next generation of personal computing devices.
