Koolance ERM-3K4U - water-cooled server chassis

By: (more) | Computer Systems News | Posted: Sep 21, 2006 12:50 am

PC cooling mob "Koolance" have designed a very swish new server chassis for the market recently; dubbed the ERM-3K4U, this chassis is designed for a rack server environment and uses the 4U format, it also boasts a very powerful water cooling system which supposedly allows it to cool up to 20 processors (or up to 3000W of heat) - Phwoar!

Check out all the details at Koolance's website folks.

The Koolance ERM-3K4U is a dedicated liquid cooling system for very special thermal applications. It can provide up to 3000W of potential heat dissipation, and is housed in a lightweight aluminum enclosure. By default, the ERM-3K4U is offered in a standard 4U profile rack-mountable unit. However, with the handles removed and LED readout rotated, the cooling system can be operated in a vertical "tower" position.

The ERM-3K4U5 utilizes five powerful pumps [>6 L/min (1.8 GPM), >3m (10ft) head], each with separate auto-shutoff quick disconnect nozzles. Due to extremely high pressure and flow rate, 20 or more computer processors might be connected to a single ERM-3K4U5 system if within the total dissipation rating.
