Who has the biggest advertising marketing budget for Computex 2006? The winner, by far, is Intel.
Today we did a quick walk around the Computex trade show area in Taipei - Intel dominated it, totally! I don't actually recall seeing an AMD advertisement, at least not yet anyway. The New York New York building made famous by excessive photography at Computex presently has no advertisement on it - the winning bidder for this advertising space is so far unknown.
We feel that this fierce advertising presence by Intel is going to be an accurate representation of what company is going to garner the most interest and attention this year at Computex - after all... Conroe kicks ass, Viiv is gaining momentum and their new P965 Express chipset for Core 2 is supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread.
So far, it's looking like Intel and nVidia will get the most attention followed far behind by ATI and AMD who just don't seem to have anything all that interesting - besides possibly ATI's Quad Crossfire and hardware physics but it remains to be seen what we will even see. AMD made a few platform announcements recently but nothing to really get all hot and sweaty over.
